Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are not commonly passed through hand jobs (having someone masturbate your penis with their hands) and fingering (having someone masturbate your vulva with their hands.) We have an earlier Sex Friendly Manitoba post about this.
Whether you are having sexual contact with sex workers, anonymous partners, casual partners, or long-term partners routine testing is a good idea. If you are having oral sex, anal sex, vaginal sex, or sharing sex toys we recommend talking with your doctor, nurse or testing provider about how often STI testing is right for you. Other harm reduction tools like lube, external condoms, internal condoms, oral dams, etc. are also effective in reducing exposure to sexually transmitted infections.
